Recommended Project Workflow
Use a repeatable editable-project workflow before producing embroidery machine files.
Keep one editable source
Use .embproj as the master. Machine formats emphasize stitch commands and may lose object structure, groups, source geometry, settings, or exact colors. Opening or importing artwork adds it to the current design; use New Project when you intend to clear the current work.
Recommended order
- Create a new project or open an existing
.embproj. - Choose the hoop and margin before detailed placement.
- Import SVG, trace an image, draw, or insert Shape Library artwork.
- Organize groups and object order to control overlaps, color stops, and travel.
- Assign design colors and useful thread names or codes.
- Recalculate and inspect stitches, travel paths, Info statistics, and Ready warnings.
- Save the project, then export production documents and a machine file.
