Artwork and structure

Artwork
The visual source used to build a design.
Object
An editable shape, path, region, or text item.
Group
Objects held together for organization or shared transforms.
Layer / order
The object sequence controlling overlap and sewing order.
SVG
Scalable Vector Graphics artwork containing vector geometry.
Image trace
Conversion of bitmap color regions into editable objects.

Stitches and finishing

Stitch
A needle movement that lays thread.
Running stitch
A line of consecutive stitches.
Satin stitch
Closely spaced zigzag stitches across a narrow shape.
Fill stitch
Rows of stitches covering a region.
Underlay
Foundation stitching beneath the visible top stitches.
Tie-in / tie-off
Small securing stitches at a section start or end.
Trim
A command to cut thread.
Jump / travel
A non-sewing move between stitch locations.
Color stop / color change
A section boundary where the machine changes thread or pauses.
Density
How closely stitch rows or penetrations are placed.
Short stitch
An unusually small stitch that may increase bulk or thread breaks.
Pull compensation
Added coverage intended to offset material pull.

Production and files

Thread chart
An ordered list of color stops and thread references.
Production sheet
A job reference containing preview, measurements, threads, statistics, and notes.
Hoop
The frame and defined sewing area holding fabric.
Margin
Clearance inside the hoop boundary.
DST
A stitch-focused Tajima format without exact RGB colors.
PES
A Brother embroidery machine-file family.
JEF
A Janome embroidery machine format.
EXP
A stitch-oriented Melco-style format.

Validation preview
A decoded comparison of exported file data with expected stitches.
