Finishing, Tie-In, Tie-Off, Trims, and Travels
Configure finishing stitches and understand jumps, trims, and start/end behavior.
Finishing controls
The Finishing tab includes Add tie-in, Add tie-off, Trim long jumps, and Trim at color changes, with tie stitch length/count and long-jump threshold controls. Travel optimization is available only in contexts where Sew Editor can safely reorder or adjust travel.
Practical setup
- Enable tie-in to secure a section start and tie-off to secure its end when appropriate.
- Choose conservative tie length/count values for the material and machine.
- Enable long-jump trimming and set its threshold when unsupported thread carries would be visible.
- Use color-change trimming when the target workflow requires it.
- Turn on finishing markers to inspect trims and available start/end markers.
A travel or jump moves between sewn areas without ordinary stitching; a trim cuts the carried thread. Custom start/end point controls appear for compatible selected objects. Set the marker on the object, and use reverse stitch direction for a compatible open path when the opposite sewing direction is preferable.
