Export Validation Preview
Decode and compare an exported embroidery file as a confidence check.
What validation does
After export, Sew Editor opens a validation preview. It decodes the generated file and compares readable output with the expected current design rather than trusting only that a download was created.
Read the comparison
- Decoded details include format, size, stitches, jumps/trims, color changes, thread sections, commands, end command, and maximum movement delta.
- Expected details include size, total stitches, color changes, and sections.
- The decoded stitch count should match expected total stitches. Expected totals include base stitches plus generated finishing stitches.
- Compare expected and decoded totals and section counts.
- Confirm an end command is present and maximum delta respects the format.
- Inspect the decoded preview and bounds; small differences can occur because machine formats quantize coordinates.
- If a material mismatch remains, save the project, recalculate, and re-export.
