Sew Editor user manual

Cleanup Tools

Reduce traced complexity, tiny regions, excessive points, colors, and inefficient travel.

Why clean a design

Cleanup reduces detail that does not contribute to the sewn result. The left Cleanup settings and right Cleanup panel expose applicable operations for color cleanup, small-object removal, point reduction, and travel optimization.

A safe cleanup pass

  1. Save a versioned .embproj before a broad change.
  2. After Image Trace, remove small objects or regions that represent noise.
  3. Merge similar colors only when separate stops are unnecessary; review the thread count afterward.
  4. Reduce excessive points while comparing the silhouette.
  5. Use travel optimization where available, then ensure it did not change required overlap or order.
  6. Review high object-to-object travel warnings in Ready and Info.
