Editing Existing Satin Columns
Edit rails and direction rungs on Satin Column objects already present in an editable project.
A column defined by two rails
Satin Column stitches between left and right rails. Unlike a fixed-width satin outline, its width follows the distance between those rails; the Satin width field reads Defined by rails.
Open and select an existing column
Satin Column creation is not currently exposed in the public Draw toolbar. This topic applies to columns already present in an editable .embproj.
- Open the project and select its Satin Column in Objects.
- Inspect its rail geometry and current stitch preview.
- Adjust Satin spacing, Pull compensation, and underlay where applicable; turn off Use global stitch settings for local changes.
Edit rails and direction rungs
Use Edit Points to adjust rail geometry. Each rail must retain at least two points. In Objects → Direction rungs, choose Add rung to add a correspondence between rails. Edit its endpoints to guide stitch direction, or select it and choose Delete rung. Inspect the complete column after edits, especially bends and changing widths.
Save an .embproj to retain rails and rungs for later editing. Machine exports contain the calculated stitches rather than this editable construction.
